Last week, Seoul was hit by a historic downpour that flooded the southern parts of the city, namely Gangnam and surrounding areas.
The storm left seven people dead and six people missing. Damage to the city would have been extensive with metro stations, shops and up to 3,000 cars submerged under water.
As Seoul begins its path to recovery, these celebrities are doing their part to get the city back on its feet as quickly as possible.
On August 11, the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association reported that the beloved comedian Yoo Jae Suk donated ₩100 million KRW (about US$76,500) for recovery efforts. The comedian’s agency released a brief statement about it.
After learning about the livelihoods that were lost, he donated in the hope that the displaced people can recover.

The Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association released a statement promising that the funds would go directly to those displaced by the storm.
We will ensure that the heartfelt donations made by Yoo Jae Suk, along with so many others, are sent to the displaced people.

Yoo Jae Suk isn’t the only star to help out. On August 11, it was also revealed that Kim Go Eun donated KRW 50.0 million (approximately US$38,300) to relief efforts. The actress’ agency, BH Entertainment, revealed in a statement.
Kim Go Eun donated in hopes that those affected by the storm can regain their lives.

And PSY, which has become synonymous with water this summer, has also donated to relief. The Korean Red Cross revealed on August 11 that the singer had donated 100 million KRW (about 76,500 USD).

These celebrities, including Kim Hye Soo, i am yes wan, kan tae oh, yoon sae ah, Han Ji-min, na rae park, arine, Kang Seung Yoon, young Jin Park, and others are doing their part to help recover what was lost in the storm.
