Beginning vs. now: The big difference in how BTS’ Jungkook celebrated his birthday

Yesterday, September 1, it was jungkook day! The bts maknae seemed to be having a lot of fun spending time with the people he loves through a live stream on Wevers Live, where he was even accompanied by a special guest.

Their hyung Jin surprised ARMY when he randomly appeared on camera and waved at them. He and Jungkook brightened everyone’s day with their fun conversations and chaotic energy. The way Jin listed the BTS members one by one, asking if they greet him in person like him, made many people laugh!

During the same live broadcast, Jungkook ate his birthday cake and performed an impromptu concert. He made ARMY hearts happy with his charming voice, singing classic BTS songs like “Butterfly”, “Coffee” and “Just One Day”.

Overall it was a light, fun and relaxed occasion. But oddly enough, the same can’t be said for how he spent his birthday in BTS’ freshman year. On September 1, 2013, the boys spent the day filming the music video for their first comeback song “NO”.

During the group’s dance break, the music video producer pointed out that Jungkook fell out of lineup and didn’t stay center stage.

It got so bad that the boys’ manager gathered them all in the waiting room and scolded Jungkook for his acting. He tried to explain his side, saying quietly, “I matched the marked band… Among the dancing hyungs, I was just on the left.”

Unfortunately, his manager didn’t buy him. “Have you only practiced it once or twice? What are you doing now? Jeon Jungkook! Do you think you are good and everyone is wrong? Why are you acting like this?”

The walleye maknae he could only obediently apologize.

Even your beloved hyungs M Yes Suga didn’t let him get away. They berated him saying things like, “Are you mad that we didn’t celebrate your birthday?“O”You were wrong. You kept joking too.”

It was Jungkook’s birthday, but nothing was going his way…or so it seemed. In fact, it was all a plot to prank him! Soon they brought out a cake and sang a song to her. The sadness on her face quickly turned to shock, and tears followed soon after.

It was definitely a day he will never forget.

Looking back, Jungkook’s first anniversary as a member of BTS may not have gone as planned, but everyone meant well. Yesterday and today, your birthday celebrations are filled with love and care from the people around you.
