Q recently mentioned the potential stage names he almost received before his debut.
His real name Ji Changmin, it is under the pseudonym of Q that he made a career in THE BOYZ.
On September 11, the young man then exchanged with his fans on UNIVERSE, and he mentioned the stage names that had been discussed before his debut.
In a series of messages to his fans on the app, Q wrote:
“Like Music Bank, they always say, ‘Music~Q’, I always feel like they call my name ㅎㅎㅋㅋㅋㅋ
Every time they do that, I say to myself: ‘my name was well chosen’ ㅎㅎ ՞,_ ՞
My name was chosen by the company.
For me, honestly, I wanted a Korean name. I just wanted a common name.
But there were different possible names. There was ‘Yechan’, and also ‘Tag’.
There were a lot of them, but suddenly they said, ‘And what about Q?’ I thought about it, and I said to myself: ‘That’s pretty!’ I reacted like this ㅎㅎ
It was weird at first, but now it’s really like my middle name ㅋㅋㅋㅋ
It’s fascinating, because it’s weird now when members call me ‘Changmin-ah’. It’s weird, I’m more used to members calling me Q.”
