Lee Sun Bin won his lawsuit against his agency.
In June 2020, Wellmade Star ENT filed a complaint against the celebrity, accusing him of continuing his activities on his side after having unilaterally terminated his contract without an agreement with the agency.
The agency demanded compensation from the latter in the amount of 500 million won (about 362,000 euros).
According to court information, the young woman signed with the agency in 2016, before notifying the company of the cancellation of their contract on September 21, 2018.
For his part, Lee Sun Bin defended that the agency had never given him any information about his payments despite his requests.
Still according to her, her agency had even cast her on a show without telling her when their contract was broken. The company had even revoked its manager of his chartered manager status in order to disrupt his activities and prevent him from carrying out his work.
During the trial, the Court found that the agency had never provided notice of payment or anything similar to the young woman.
The Court therefore argued that she was entitled to break her contract since the agency refused to give her real information about the payments, and that her activities carried out since on her side without her agency were not a problem.
The court had already ruled in favor of Lee Sun Bin, and the court’s response was the same after Wellamde Star ENT’s appeal request.
The Court considers that there is no reason to continue with this lawsuit since the agency did not respect its commitments towards Lee Sun Bin.
Lee Sun Bin therefore won his lawsuit and will not have to pay anything in compensation to the agency.
