On September 29, BIGHIT MUSIC listed on Weverse the steps they are taking to protect BTS especially from internet trolls. They noted that they often do legal checks related to various types of hateful comments. Corporate threats, contrary to what the antis may think, are never in vain.

Hi.

This is GREAT MUSIC.

Our company regularly takes legal action against the perpetrators of
malicious activities related to BTS, including defamation, personal attacks,
sexual harassment, dissemination of unfounded information and ill-intentioned practices
critical. We would like to provide an update on these activities.

They filed more complaints against people who made BTS the target of hate, especially an account that repeatedly spread malicious rumors about them in various online communities. BIGHIT MUSIC used a combination of evidence gathered by ARMY and the company’s own resources in the legal proceedings.

We recently filed additional criminal complaints against publications with
personal attacks and slander also using new information provided by fans
as collected through our monitoring initiatives.

We found several defamatory messages containing false information about
artists on platforms inside and outside Korea. We also found that a
specific cartel spread the same malicious rumor in several
platforms and filed a criminal complaint against the cartel after bringing together all
repetitively loaded messages.

They revealed that the company follows a process when responding to trolls. This includes monitoring suspicious accounts and collecting evidence from fans before bringing haters to the proper authorities. Because of this, the company was able to bring the worst of them to the prosecution, where they will be prosecuted accordingly.

We currently follow our legal response process which monitors and collects evidence on malicious posts for 365 days and then includes it in the complaint. Active reports from our fans have been a big help in our efforts to monitor malicious posts. We would also like to share with you that after a thorough police investigation,
we were able to identify the suspect and the case was forwarded to
the prosecutor’s office.

Thanks.

To end their statement, BIGHIT MUSIC reiterated that they will never stop protecting their artists from harm. Anyone who might consider posting malicious comments should remember that they have a “no okay, no mercy” policy.

BIGHIT regularly collects information about malicious messages related to BTS,
He reports them to the authorities and files criminal complaints. We would like
emphasize that we will continue to take strict measures to ensure that these
malicious acts are not repeated, and our policy of no redress and no leniency
remains in force.

We ask that you continue to use our hotline.
([email protected]) to report any cases of abuse.

We will continue to work to ensure that the rights of our artists are fully
protected.

bts Jin He also posted a comment on Weverse’s reaction to the situation. He mentioned not knowing exactly what the trolls said about the band, showing that he didn’t let the hate get to him.

I wonder what the malicious commenters have done to take legal action.
