YG Entertainment sues the spread of Jennie’s private photos (BLACKPINK)

YG Entertainment will file a complaint against the person who posted private photos of Jennie (BLACKPINK).

For many months, rumors have spread that Jennie and V (BTS) would be in a relationship following the appearance online of personal photos whose fans are debating the veracity.

On October 3, YG Entertainment released a statement announcing that the agency would be taking legal action to address the spread of false information.

In its statement, YG Entertainment said:

“It’s YG Entertainment.

We reveal that we have officially asked the police to investigate the original distributor of Jennie’s personal photos from BLACKPINK. YG constantly monitors relevant content and we filed a complaint last September after collecting information.

In order to minimize further damage, YG has refrained from commenting on the situation and expressing our position.

However, the recent mass production of rumours, accusations, personal attacks, sexual harassment and invasion of privacy triggered by personal photos happened indiscriminately, so we felt a sense of responsibility, which made it impossible for us to ignore the situation any longer. Therefore, we want to reveal the facts of the lawsuit.

YG takes legal action against posts that tarnish our agency’s artist image and reputation.

We inform you that we have filed a complaint for defamation under the law on information and communication networks, violation of the prohibition of the illegal dissemination of information and illegal use of the means of communication for the actions consisting in repeatedly upload unverified information and write excessively malicious messages.

We plan to take all legal actions without any leniency for further damages that occur afterward.

The photos that circulated online were revealed illegally regardless of personal intentions. Sharing these personal photos is not only a secondary offense, but it is also punishable by law. We sincerely ask you to avoid this blind sharing.

YG Entertainment will continue to work hard to protect the agency’s artist rights in the future.

Thanks.”
