Kyungpook University is currently facing criticism.
Recently, the university announced that IVE would participate in its festival which takes place on October 6th.
However, the university recently announced in a press release that the girlgroup could not participate in the end due to visa problems.
Problem: Starship Entertainment had never agreed to IVE’s participation, however, so the agency exposed the university’s lies regarding alleged visa issues.
According to Starship, the organizers would therefore have used this excuse to lie about the reason for the absence of IVE, while the presence of the group had never been negotiated beforehand.
In a statement, the agency said:
“IVE has received offers to appear at Kyungpook University and Keimyung College University festivals on October 6th.
But after receiving these offers, IVE and Starship never confirmed, and no negotiations were made for the group’s appearance.
Thus, while Starship did not give consent to Kyungpook University for IVE’s appearance, Kyungpook University still listed IVE among its festival artists.
When the agency noticed this, we asked to have IVE’s name removed, but never got a response.
We would like to make it clear that we have left no misunderstandings and will not allow misunderstandings to arise about activities that we have not confirmed.
