When it comes to K-Dramas, there is no formula to guarantee success.
That said, casting superstars doesn’t hurt, as it does with K-drama. our blues which featured a star-studded cast and earned impressive ratings.
But there are dramas like Lawyer Extraordinary Woothat despite there being no superstar, the success of the drama made one.
Then there’s the drama that fails despite its large cast. Girls generation Yoonathe new drama Big mouth can fall into this category if the drama doesn’t turn things around.
UKit is Big mouth has been highly anticipated since early 2022. Many fans have been waiting to see the chemistry between Lee Jong Suk and Yoona.
The drama aired its first two episodes on July 29 and 30. According to audience research firm Nielsen Korea, the drama’s second episode earned a respectable 6.2%. Ratings were good for the first in the drama timeslot.
Despite coming in first, the drama received mixed reactions from its audience.
In one of Korea’s largest online communities, netizens reacted to the drama’s first episode. Netizens showed a mixed reaction, but many agreed that the drama needed improvement.
- “The drama itself is fine, but the dialogue is hard to listen to, which makes it frustrating to watch.”
- “That was fun for me, hahaha. Because it’s the first episode, the drama was a bit wild, but I think it will improve once the story moves forward.

CMB Big mouth features veteran actor Lee Jong Suk and Girls’ Generation Yoona. Fans anticipated the two actors’ on-screen chemistry as they play a married couple in the drama.
