BIGHIT Updates Their Legal Actions To Protect BTS

BIGHIT MUSIC has spoken out about their lawsuits to protect BTS.

The agency regularly posts updates on its legal measures in order to defend its artists.

On September 30, the company announced via a press release:

“Hello.

This is BIGHIT MUSIC.

Our company regularly takes legal action against perpetrators of malicious activities related to BTS, including defamation, personal attacks, sexual harassment, spreading baseless information, and malicious criticism. We would like to provide an update on these activities.

We recently filed additional criminal complaints against posts containing personal attacks and defamation using new information provided by fans as well as collected through our monitoring initiatives.

We found several defamation posts containing false information about artists on platforms in Korea and overseas. We also found that a specific post had spread the same ill-intentioned rumor across multiple platforms and filed a criminal complaint against this after collecting all the repetitively uploaded posts.

We currently follow our legal response process which monitors and collects evidence on malicious posts for 365 days and then includes it in the complaint. The active reporting of our fans has been a great help in our efforts to monitor malicious posts.

We would also like to let you know that after a thorough police investigation, we were able to identify the suspect and the case was forwarded to the prosecutor’s office.

BIGHIT routinely collects information about malicious posts about BTS, reports them to authorities, and files criminal complaints. We would like to emphasize that we will continue to take strict measures to ensure that these malicious acts do not happen again, and our policy of no settlement and no leniency remains in effect.

We ask that you continue to use our hotline ([email protected]) to report any instances of abuse.

We will continue to work to ensure that the rights of our artists are fully protected.

Thanks.”
