BLACKPINK Becomes First Girl Group To Sell Over 1 Million Copies Of An Album In One Day

BLACKPINK’s comeback is already crowned with success!

On September 16, the YG Entertainment girl group unveiled their second full album titled “BORN PINK”, along with the MV of “Shut Down”.

In a few hours, the group’s new album has already allowed the girls to break a record.

Indeed, with already 1,011,266 copies sold according to Hanteo, the official organization which lists the albums sold, this opus has become the first album by a girlgroup (and a female artist) to sell more than a million copies in one day!

This is the very first time in history that a female K-POP artist has managed to sell more than one million copies of a single album on the day of its release.

In comparison, “THE ALBUM”, BLACKPINK’s first full album, sold 589,310 copies in one day, proving the immense immediate success of “BORN PINK”, which almost doubled in sales in one day.

The one-day sales record was held by aespa with 806,891 copies of “Girls” sold in the same time frame, but it was shattered by BLACKPINK with “BORN PINK”.
