BLACKPINK makes history by debuting at #1 on the Billboard 200 with “BORN PINK”

BLACKPINK dominates the Billboard 200!

On September 25, Billboard announced the list of its new Billboard 200 ranking, which lists the best-selling albums in the United States.

We then learn that BLACKPINK entered directly into first place in the ranking!

Indeed, “BORN PINK” sits at the top of the rankings for the week up to September 22.

This is a historic record for several reasons.

First of all, this is the first time that a Korean female artist has managed to climb on the top step of the Billboard 200.

That’s not all, as this is the first time since 2008 that a girl group has managed to reach the top spot on the Billboard 200.

In 2008, Danity Kane was the last girl group in the world to achieve this feat with the album “Welcome to the Dollhouse”.

BLACKPINK’s record was made possible by 102,000 album-equivalent sales over the past week.

Among these 102,000, 75,500 copies are sales of physical albums, to which are added in particular 25,000 equivalent-streams to an album, which is translated by 37 million streams.

Congratulations to BLACKPINK!
