BLACKPINK: “Pink Venom” deemed unsuitable for broadcast by KBS and excluded from the Music Bank

KBS revealed its list of songs unsuitable for broadcast this week.

As every week, KBS reviews all the new titles that the artists wish to be able to broadcast on the antennas of the chain, tracks which are the subject of an eligibility test before the Korean Commission for Communication Standards.

This week, it was then BLACKPINK’s latest title, “Pink Venom”, which was banned from being broadcast on KBS.

The track was indeed rejected by KBS’s selection criteria, the title having been determined to be unsuitable for broadcast due to “mention of a luxury brand in the lyrics (CELINE)”.

This therefore means that unless there is a change in the lyrics especially for KBS, “Pink Venom” will not be broadcast on the various antennas of the channel.

Following this judgment, “Pink Venom” is therefore excluded from the Music Bank and cannot claim victory in the KBS music show.

It remains to be seen whether YG Entertainment will censor the affected lyrics in a new version sent to KBS or whether the agency will simply ignore the situation by not offering this song for broadcast on the channel.

However, this concerns only KBS and no other broadcaster, since KBS is the only channel to establish this system.
