BTS gets a fifth gold record in France thanks to “Proof”

BTS is crowned gold again in France!

If before, an album needed to exceed 100,000 copies sold in France to be gold, things have changed in recent years. Indeed, in 2006 and then in 2009, the SNEP decided to lower the number of sales to 50,000 copies for a gold record.

In addition, since 2018, streaming listens are converted into equivalent sales and added to physical sales and download sales. It therefore takes 50,000 equivalent sales today to obtain a gold record on French soil.

These are the figures that had allowed “MAP OF THE SOUL: PERSONA”, “MAP OF THE SOUL: 7”, “BE” and “Love Yourself: Tear” to afford a gold record in France, and it are now imitated by a new BTS album.

On August 1st, it was indeed announced by SNEP that BTS’s “Proof” had reached 50,000 equivalent sales, thus becoming the fifth album by the male group to go gold in France.

Congratulations to BTS!
