Each week, the various music shows reward the song of the week, but how are the winners of these shows determined?

In this file, we will detail the precise criteria for winning each of these daily shows, so that you can better understand why certain artists win in certain shows rather than others, and how each musical program works.

We had already done this in 2019, but we are updating the 2022 criteria in this article since they have since evolved.

In the order of their broadcast during the week, here is how the scores of the artists are calculated in the musical programs:

Show Champion on MBC Music (Wednesdays at 6 p.m. KST)

– 35% digital sales (on MelOn, Genie, Bugs and Flo)
– 15% physical sales (according to Hanteo statistics)
– 20% votes on IDOL CHAMP
– 10% YouTube views (MV, performances)
– 20% number of times the song and MV were played on MBC M

M!Countdown on Mnet (Thursdays at 6 p.m. KST)

– 40% digital sales (according to Circle statistics)
– 10% digital sales (Spotify + Apple Music)
– 15% physical sales (according to Hanteo statistics)
– 10% YouTube views (MV, performances)
– 5% pre-votes before the show
– 10% votes during the show
– 10% number of times the song and MV were played on MNET

Music Bank on KBS 2TV (Fridays at 5 p.m. KST)

– 60% digital sales (on Melon, Genie, Vibe, Flo and Bugs)
– 5% physical sales (according to Circle statistics)
– 10% preference of the KBS panel
– 5% YouTube views (MV, performances)
– 20% number of times the song and MV were played on KBS

Music Core on MBC (Saturdays at 3:30 p.m. KST)

– 50% digital sales (according to Circle statistics)
– 10% physical sales (according to Circle statistics)
– 10% YouTube views (MV, performances)
