In Ahmedabad, India, it has been reported that an increasing number of school children are in need of counseling and intervention from qualified psychologists due to their addiction to BTS, 70% of whom are girls.
Dr. Kalrav Mistry, a psychiatrist at Shalby Hospital, said they get 5-7 cases of BTS obsession a week.
More than 15 kids have come seeking help for their BTS obsession in the past ten days, and nearly 70% of them are girls.

A teenager paid a large sum to learn a specific BTS dance choreography and smashed her laptop when asked about it. A 14-year-old girl was so addicted to BTS that she couldn’t eat or sleep well and listened to the band’s music for hours on her laptop and phone.
Parents began to monitor their children’s concern for BTS closely and demanded more information, as they were unaware that being a fan of BTS could lead to addictive and obsessive behavior. Many schools have also hired full-time psychologists to help students better cope with their BTS addiction.
Dr. Ajab Primuswala, a psychologist at a well-known school near SG Highway, has linked the growing addiction to devices with BTS addiction.
Now, the proliferation of Korean pop groups is affecting children. Recently, the band performed live at 4 a.m. and many kids stayed up to watch the live show online.
