HYBE criticized after asking LE SSERAFIM to lose more weight in their documentary

HYBE is currently under fire from critics.

On September 17, HYBE and Source Music released a behind-the-scenes documentary on the creation and debut of LE SSERAFIM.

Following the broadcast of the documentary, one scene in particular caught the attention of netizens, who expressed numerous criticisms.

In this scene, we can indeed see high-ranking people at HYBE in charge of the group asking the girls to lose more weight.

In this scene, Kim Hyung Eun, head of artist management, says to the girls:

“Those of you who have already started know this. It is important to pay more attention to your body when doing promotions. I don’t think you were 100%. As a company, we will do our best to provide you with the opportunities. But in the end, taking care of yourself is up to you. I want you to take the time to think about how important this is and pay more strict attention to yourself.”

On TheQoo, a post about this scene and criticizing the behavior of HYBE and Source Music quickly went viral, approaching 100,000 views in a few hours.

In the post in question, the original user wrote: “They’re already not very fat, and the agency is telling them to be more careful and lose weight…”

In it, Internet users therefore confirmed the general opinion at length, all agreeing that it was absurd to see this kind of thing.

Some of the comments from netizens included:

But they are already so fine…

I felt so bad when Sakura started crying

It was really both mean and toxic, and saying that to girls in front of all these men…it’s really pathetic

They’re already so thin, what more do they want them to lose?!?

Between that and many other documentaries, is HYBE really proud to show that?
