Jang Gyuri will leave fromis_9.

On July 28, PLEDIS Entertainment announced that the young woman was leaving the group, stating that her initial contract had expired, and that she had not signed a new contract with PLEDIS following the group’s change of agency.

fromis_9 will continue its career with 8 members.

This is PLEDIS Entertainment.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all the fans who have shown undying support and love for fromis_9. We would like to give you some information about the future activities of fromis_9.

fromis_9 will become an eight-member group starting next August and will meet fans for their upcoming activities in Japan as well as various other activities planned for the second half of this year.

fromis_9’s fifth EP “from our Memento Box” will be Jang Gyuri’s final promotional activity as she wraps up her activities as a fromis_9 member. She will conclude her contract with us earlier on July 31 to embark on a new adventure.

The eight members of fromis_9 (Lee Saerom, Song Hayoung, Park Jiwon, Roh Jisun, Lee Seoyeon, Lee Chaeyoung, Lee Nagyung and Baek Jiheon) signed new exclusive contracts with us when they transferred to PLEDIS Entertainment in August 2021. Jang Gyuri maintained the terms of the original contract with his former agency, and PLEDIS was put in charge of tasks including managing his group activities and individual activities.

The artist and company made this decision after careful consideration and discussion about what would be the best path for everyone.
