The Music Bank producers will be judged for their manipulation.
A few months ago, LE SSERAFIM beat Lim Young Woong for the Music Bank trophy, the KBS music show.
However, this had raised many questions, as the singer’s defeat depended on the broadcast score on KBS antennas, an index for which LE SSERAFIM had collected 5348 points while Lim Young Woong posted a score of 0.
This index is decided according to the number of times the song has been broadcast on KBS antennas. A score of 0 therefore means that Lim Young Woong’s song would never have been broadcast on KBS channels and radios.
However, Lim Young Woong’s fans managed to prove that the singer’s track had already aired on KBS channels and radios several times during the week, which went to show that KBS had manipulated the scores.
A complaint was subsequently filed, and the police opened an investigation against KBS in this regard.
On August 24, police in the Yeongdeungpo district of Seoul announced that the Music Bank producers would have their case taken to court.
According to the reports, the investigation showed that the producers of the KBS show abused their power by willfully manipulating Lim Young Woong’s score in order to prevent him from winning the trophy.
