Netizens Praise K-Drama’s ‘Extraordinary Attorney Woo’ Kiss Scene For Many Reasons

Our ship has officially sailed!

From Episode 1 of IT ISby K-Drama Lawyer Extraordinary Woowe sent lawyer Woo Young Woo (park eun bin) and his colleague Lee Jun Ho (kan tae oh).

And from the very beginning, it was clear that Jun Ho had fallen in love with Young Woo…

Over the past few weeks, there has been back and forth between them. Although Jun Ho fell first, Young Woo confessed first.

Then finally at the end of episode 9, after some encouragement from Kwon Min Woo (Joo Jong Hyuk), Jun Ho runs to Young Woo to confess that he loves her too.

In episode 10, Young Woo tells his friends about the confession scene, but reveals that he ran away after being so agitated that his mind went blank.

Her friends encouraged her to hurry up and work things out by dating Jun Ho. Having not dated anyone before, Young Woo asked what to do…

So when he met up with Jun Ho again to confirm that he still loves her, he revealed a style list of dating ideas for them. Although it’s so sweet, Jun Ho really wanted to start by taking her home and holding her hand…

Although she tried to hold Jun Ho’s hand, it was still too awkward for her and he respected her boundaries. So, they agreed that “holding hands can wait.”

However, kisses are not forbidden.

At the end of the episode, Young Woo reflects on the development of their relationship after a case in which a man was jailed for allegedly sexually assaulting his girlfriend because she is disabled. He can’t help but compare the affair to his own relationship, especially considering the reaction of Jun Ho’s friends.

However, Jun Ho reassures her as usual. And if that wasn’t enough to make us love Jun Ho…

When he first considers kissing her, he realizes that she is nervous, so he takes a step back.

Then she consents, kissing him first. Not only does it show how respectful Jun Ho is, but it communicates Young Woo’s character development, as he had already run away whenever he got too close to Jun Ho.

Of course, since it was Young Woo’s first kiss, it wasn’t so easy at first. So she asked him for instructions on how to kiss better…

Let’s just say viewers couldn’t contain themselves after that!

Viewers are now calling it one of the best kisses in K-Drama history and we can see why.

Not only is it super healthy…

The details are so powerful. While K-Drama fans generally don’t like first kisses to be in the dark, he communicated a lot in this scene by having it partially in the dark.

Their silhouettes communicate that not only are they the only thing that matters to each other in the face of the world…

But with the detail of the green light behind them it symbolizes that it’s consensual, a big theme of the episode.

And, seeing them as silhouettes, they just look like two people kissing. No one can judge anyone as disabled.

We also love seeing the character development of Young Woo and Jun Ho! We can agree that they really are one of the best couples in a K-Drama.

And it’s so good to see a K-Drama portraying the importance of consent in a relationship! Gone are the days of toxic male leads forcing the female lead.

And, in Young Woo’s case, she didn’t just consent. In fact, she kissed him first.
