Park Hyunse (YGX) of “Street Man Fighter” apologizes after mocking NewJeans’ choreography

Park Hyunse has issued an apology following controversy.

Park Hyunse is a dancer belonging to YGX and part of the Loyal Chumps crew. Currently, he can be seen appearing as a contestant on the dance show “Street Man Fighter”.

A few days ago, he posted a video on his Instagram account in which he dances with three other members of Loyal Chumps to “Hype Boy” by NewJeans. In the video, they dance exaggeratedly in a way that was widely seen as mockery.

Moreover, Park Hyunse had titled his video by making a pun with ‘NewJeans’ and ‘jjindda’ (which means ‘loser’ or ‘rejected’), and the title was: “NewJeandda’s debut is a failure.”

He had also responded to comments under his post. He had indeed pinned the comment of a user who said that the video was not funny but was rather offensive, before responding: “And yes !”

Further knowing that ‘Hype Boy’ choreographer BLACK.Q is also one of the contestants of ‘Street Man Fighter’ competing with him, many people also thought it was a mockery. addressed to the choreographer.

Following the controversy, he had deleted the video, but the controversy continued, with many people waiting for an apology from him.

This August 25, Park Hyunse then apologized.

On Instagram, he wrote:

“Hello, this is Hyunse. First of all, I would like to say that I’m really sorry.

I filmed NewJeans’ “Hype Boy” challenge playfully, and had an overly sensitive reaction to the comments, so I made a rash decision and responded in a way that was wrong. I am ashamed of this situation and of having caused damage and harm to many people through my personal actions.

There was no intention to make fun of NewJeans, the choreographer of “Hype Boy,” or anyone else related to the song in the video uploaded. Also, I would like to say that the “NewJeanddas” in the title of the video refers to the four of us, not anyone else. I sincerely apologize to NewJeans and the choreographer, whose feelings must have been hurt by this video, as well as to NewJeans fans and anyone who watched the video and frowned because of it.

I also sincerely apologize to the members of YGX, who suffered damages due to my reckless behavior; YGX fans; everyone involved in “Street Man Fighter”; and all the other dancers. From now on, I will remain deeply aware that my personal affairs concern not only me but also others, and I will ensure that such incidents do not happen again in the future.

I am sorry.”
