September 7 was Apple event day. The new iPhone 14 and above have been announced.

What’s even more remarkable is that Apple is mostly announcing it in a new dark purple color. Previously, Apple released a lavender option with the iPhone 12.

The new dark purple iPhone caught the attention of ARMYs (BTS fans).

Purple became the official group color of BTS after v coined the term borahae (I kill you). Thus, purple is often used in conjunction with BTS.

ARMYs weren’t the only ones who noticed Apple’s new purple iPhone and suspected it was created with BTS in mind.

On September 7, the same day as the Apple Event, Samsung tweeted: “GOOD STORY MY BROTHER,” but with purple emojis instead of O’s, clearly implying the new Deep Purple.

In August, Samsung held its annual event Samsung unboxed an event. With the help of global ambassadors BTS, the new Galaxy Z Flip4 was introduced with the new color Bora Purple, named after Borahe. Samsung therefore suggests that Apple has copied its purple.

ARMY also pointed out that since Samsung originally released Bora Purple in honor of BTS and Apple is trying to compete by introducing Deep Purple, BTS is the real reason behind it all. Samsung cheekily replied, “Mathematics is mathematics.”

However, the shadow by no means ended there. September 7 was full of Samsung social media managers shading Apple.

Many tweets referenced that Apple seems to have copied features and names from Samsung…

However, most references indicate that Apple has yet to introduce foldable phones like Samsung.

One thing is that the influence of BTS is unmatched.
