A former ‘PRODUCE 101’ contestant has taken his own life.
On September 20, it was indeed revealed that Jung Joong Ji had passed away.
It was the young man’s mother who announced on Twitter: “She is Jung Joong Ji’s mother. My son ended his life. I can’t describe what I’m feeling right now.”

Jung Joong Ji had appeared in plays like “Prison” or “The Essence of Love”.
From the general public and international point of view, he was known for participating in season 2 of Mnet’s survival, ‘PRODUCE 101’.
He was eliminated finishing 64th at the time, garnering 86,864 votes.
Jung Joong Ji celebrated his last birthday on September 5, before ending his life four days later on September 9.
His funeral was held on September 11.
He was 30 years old.
